Today, I am truly grateful and inspired by the brave men and women who have contributed their lives and made sacrifices so you, me and future generations can have freedom and opportunities.

Growing up in the United States of America, it’s easy to take things for granted because most of us have been shielded from war and attacks.  However, when you really listen to the stories of American heros, known and unknown, who made unbelievable sacrifices, you really become more aware of their personal sacrifices.

Every year, when I reflect upon this day, Memorial Day, I always think about my Uncle George who served his country with courage and commitment.  When I was a young child, I remember my Uncle George showing me his scar after being shot in the stomach in combat in the war. My Uncle George was a brave man who made sacrifices for his family, his country, and our future generation.

Although my Uncle George is no longer with us in physical body, his spirit lives on through his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews (like me), and others.

Today, I honor my Uncle George and the countless other brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

I say, “Thank You.”

Last night, I watched the movie: American Sniper.  Yes! It is a Hollywood feature film.  And still, it highlights the unbelievable toils and sacrifices that our military men and women have made.

Today, I am even now more committed to making a positive difference with my life because the TRUTH is… You and I have no excuse not to “step it up” and make the most of the freedom that so many brave men and women have created for us.

Will you join me in making the most of your life?

“Yes” or “No”
